On Thursday, March 12^th UConn Early College Experience, and the UConn ECE Faculty Coordinator from Allied Health, Dr. Bruce Blanchard met with a group of more than 30 UConn ECE certified Allied Health Instructors for a virtual professional development workshop.

The group introduced themselves and took time to speak about each course: AH 1100: Introduction to Allied Health Professions, AH 2001: Medical Terminology and AH 4092: EMT Training  Veteran Instructors  shared insight with some of the newly certified ECE AH Instructors as well.  Time was spent sharing course resources and discussing possible improvements to the courses.

On Tuesday, May 2^nd Early College Experience Allied Health Instructors visited the Storrs campus for a professional development workshop. After a welcome by Allied Health Sciences Department Head, Dr. Justin Nash, the group introduced themselves and discussed AH 4092: EMT Training, AH 1100: Introduction to Allied Health Professions, and AH 2001: Medical Terminology in roundtable sessions discussing best practices and strategies for engaging with students.

On Tuesday, April 26th, UConn Early College Experience, and the UConn ECE Faculty Coordinator for Allied Health, Dr. Bruce Blanchard met with certified UConn ECE Allied Health Instructors for their annual professional development conference.

The group discussed and shared best practices for teaching AHS courses including sharing course content, HuskyCT sites, and assessments. They also spent time talking through the challenges they are facing and their concerns and strategies for improvement.

On Wednesday, March 3^rd , UConn Early College Experience and UConn ECE Faculty Coordinator from Allied Health Sciences Prof. Bruce Blanchard met with ECE Allied Health Instructors for their annual professional development conference.

Prof. Blanchard discussed AH 1100, AH 2001 and AH 4092 courses with the Instructors and spoke to course content, the HuskyCT sites, assessments, and their challenges and concerns they’ve experienced teaching their courses remotely this year. Later in the afternoon, guest speaker Dean McKay, PhD, ABPP; Department of Psychology Professor; Fordham University spoke to the Instructors about "Unique Stressors in the Age of COVID: Five Major Dimensions and General Coping Strategies".
