Video Interest

Thank you for your interest in submitting footage for a UConn ECE video. We are currently in the process of collecting testimonials of current students and alumni for an updated welcome video and other promotional materials.

Purpose

The purpose of our welcome video is to greet registered students into the UConn Early College Experience community, congratulate them on taking their first college course, and share some of the benefits, policies, and procedures.

We will also be creating promo videos, where we hope to share student and alumni experiences and program endorsement.

What's in it for you

You’ll have the opportunity to offer honest, first-hand experience to the next generation of UConn ECE students. Your voice and likeness may appear on UConn ECE marketing and promotional materials, such as social media, YouTube Video, posters, and other printed materials. Your submission may be used in the UConn ECE Welcome Video and shown to high school students eager to start their college career. You will also receive UConn ECE swag, so you can continue supporting the great opportunity for Connecticut High School Students.

July 22- Aug 5. Selected participants recordings (1) via self recording or (2) appointment with UConn ECE Video Staff at your high school (pending availability)

We are looking for students who had a great UConn ECE experience and who would be willing to speak about their personal experiences on one or more of the following points:

  • You, as a first-generation college student (neither parent/ guardian received a bachelors’ degree in the US)
  • Cost savings to you
  • How being in a known classroom setting (your high school) was a comfort to you, knowing that you are receiving the same quality course as a course on campus
  • How you worked with a UConn Site Representative (your school counselor) to register through the DualEnroll.com Registration System/ How/ why you withdrew from a course
  • How this new experience affected you/ how you were able to explore new content/ be challenged
  • If you participated in any of the following, how it impacted you:
    • Library resources
    • Other resources (Q and/or W Centers)
    • Visit to campus with your UConn ECE class
    • Chemistry day
    • Cardboard boat race
    • Marine Science symposium
    • Magazine submission

Alumni

  • How you were more competitive in the college application process
  • How you transferred your credits
  • Difference between current college coursework and UConn ECE
  • How UConn ECE helped you prepare for time and rigor of college
  • If UConn ECE helped you complete general education courses
  • If time saved through UConn ECE gave to time to/ for:
    • Study abroad
    • Second major/ minor
    • Lighter load
    • Explore other interests
    • Internship
    • Graduate early
