ARAB 1001: Elementary Arabic I
Four credits ($200). Offered Full-year only.
Beginning Modern Standard Arabic. Emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Taught in Arabic.
Eligibility Guidelines: Instructor consent is required.

Instructor Certification Requirements:
The minimum degree requirement for instructors wishing to teach UConn Arabic courses through the ECE program is a Master’s of Arts degree in Arabic; however, a candidate with Master’s in Education with a sufficiently strong Arabic background may be considered. A candidate with a strong Arabic background has either taken graduate courses in Arabic or has been educated (K through 12) in an Arab country. Candidates will be interviewed by the Arabic faculty coordinator before certification is granted.
