Steps for Successful Registration

How Site Representatives can best support their students during the registration process

Used with the Site Representative Registration Reference Calendar & Checklist, the below tips will help you stay organized. To view the student side of the process, refer to our Student Registration page.

Pre-Registration (January – March)

  • Promote UConn classes through UConn ECE to your students. UConn ECE: The Video is a great overview.
  • Provide the UConn ECE Program Office with up-to-date course offerings with certified instructors listed (March deadline)
  • Attend Site Representative Conference (March)
  • Determine students’ eligibility to enroll in course(s)
  • Distribute UConn ECE information and Student Registration Guides
  • Determine if you would like to have students apply and enroll through the online system independently or at school. Contact the UConn ECE Program Office if you would like a staff member to assist with mass enrollment.

  • Emphasize with students that the application deadline is in June and the course enrollment deadline is in September.
  • Meet with your school counselor team to review UConn ECE policies. Emphasize that if a student makes a change to their high school schedule, they must update their UConn record appropriately. To drop a UConn course, a student must follow the drop process and may be financially responsible for the course fees.
